do you have the 83 Starion hoods available yet and will you offer carbon fiber versions of both hoods in the future? That ribless cowl hood looks pretty hot.. A twin turbo version would be hot too like the one on the mustang in your replies..

hey burton how are you doing the hood proop part? on the one CJ had it was just a small tab molded off to one side. it worked just fine, but the only thing i didnt like was it allowed the hood to flex a good deal. i had talked about making another small tab in the center to that the weight was more balanced. but i guess you could always just rest the rod on the hood latch part.

glad to see you finally got them going, great job man   i do like the cowl hoods, but i am patient so i will wait for you to be done with these and start the experimental ones cause i know they will come.

Nope, the 83 style aren't available yet, hopefully might be ready to give them a shot by the end of the month- still repairing the mold.

I can pretty much make any custom hood you want off the 2 molds I have. You show me a pic of the style scoops or vents you want, and I can make a one off hood that style.

I have yet to sell a single cowl hood after hearing people for years say they wished the cowl hoods were being made still and wanted to buy one. Now that they are- nobody wants one. If I can't even sell hood made in molds I already have, I sure don't want to spend $1000 making a new mold for a different hood.

As far as the carbon fiber... I will be offering carbon fiber cowls eventually, but doubtful on the 83 style. Mookeeh already offers a CF 83 style hood, and if I made one it would be the same price, if not more, so you're probably better off going that route.

There will be CF cowls tho, eventually. Hoping to lay one for my car this year, and once I know I can provide a quality product, then they will be sold to the masses.

I plan to do the hood prop holder parts to order to. I can do them like CJ's, but I'm also working on one that is part of the area where the hood latch goes. That would keep a more central point and less flex. It also makes the hood sit lower when open, tho, which might suck for working under it, but looks cooler at shows, I think.

I made the one on my car really stealthy. It started out with a prop holder like CJ's that I cut off and smoothed out. I then cut the very end of the prop rod off where the rod gets all curly. I then drilled a hole in the FG in the area of the latch that was slightly larger than the rod. I also drilled the same size hole in the front part of the side structural frame "rail" on the underside of the hood. Now I don't have a gaudy lookin prop hoder, and I can stick the rod in the side hole if I want the hood higher, or I can stick it in the latch area hole if I want the hood to sit lower at a show or something.

No I wouldn't want the C/F but I know peeps who would I am interested in a fiber glass 83 style hood trimmed and fitted /w the body work done, so it was ready for paint when i got it and the vents cut in so they would all be functional..

Well, I hadn't planned on repairing and refinishing the 83 hood mold until I had sold some cowls, but I also figured the cowls would sell better. I heard all sorts of people saying they wished that the cowl/83 hoods would be built again over the past couple years, but now that I have the molds and can make them, nobody seems to want any.

If you're interested in the 83 style and are ready to get one, I could go ahead and do the repair work to the mold and make a 83 hood for you, but I'd likely need a little more than the 4-6 week turnover time.

Let me know.

One with the rib, all bodywork done, and hood in primer will run about $400, and I suspect shipping that distance will be around $200-250, so you'd be looking at about $600 total, maybe a little more.

Looks good Larry. Now I'm chomping at the bit to get mine. More people need to do this... Good product at a damn reasonable rate. All the guys at my shop thought I was BSing them when I told them that I was having a hood custom made for my car AND painted to match for around $500.

Glad you like it Larry. That red isn't exact, but it's pretty damn close to the factory R04.

I got 88_TSI's coming out of the mold tomorrow or tuesday.
