Light Tint Fog/Park/Turn Covers
« on: October 30, 2009, 06:06:31 AM »
I'm starting my covers up again, but right now I only have the light tint ones to offer....

These are the light tint ones and I hope to have the dark tint ones up for sale in a couple months, but until then I have these at a substantially cheaper cost.

$35 shipped.

You need to tape of the glass and paint the housings black.   I think they would look much better then.

Yeah, I was looking at Kates car.  The black definantly looks good with the red.

For the record:

A few people out there got sets without installation instructions so I wanted to post them up here in case anybody didn't get some or lost them. The standoffs that come in the kit are of different heights. This is important, as the lenses would sit a little crooked if the standoffs were all the same size. I've seen a few of my kits installed with the standoffs on the wrong sides which makes them sit crooked. Anyway, here's the instructions....

FOG/PARK/TURN COVERS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Parts Included:

2- Lexan Covers

4- Screws

4- Snap Cap Washers

4- Snap Cap Covers

2- Short Standoffs

2- Long Standoffs

Tools needed:

#2 Phillips head screwdriver

Installation Instructions:

1- Remove factory Fog/Park/Turn trim rings

2- Thread opaque Snap Cap washers onto the screws

3- Remove protective film from cover lenses

4- Place screws through the screw holes in the lenses

5- Slide the short standoff on the screw that mounts towards the outside of the light assembly

6- Slide the long standoff on the screw that mounts toward the inside of the light assembly

7- Using a little care and balancing trickery, line the screws up with the holes they screw into, and thread them in as best as you can by hand

8- Tighten the screws with a phillips head screwdriver

9- Snap the Snap Cap covers onto the Snap Cap Washers

10- Repeat steps 2-9 on the other light assembly

11- Marvel in how much cooler your car looks!

TIPS AND TRICKS:

1- Do not try to install these covers with the factory light trim ring in place. They were not designed to be used with it, and will rub on the trim, mar up the back side of the lens, and possibly even crack it over time.

2- If after the covers are installed, they appear to look like they sit crooked on the light, then you likely got the wrong standoffs under the wrong side of the cover. Go back and switch the sides the standoffs are on, and it should sit nice.

3- If installing Light Tint Covers, you will find they are light enough to be able to see thru the lens and see the light assembly behind it. The light assemblies are a little ugly and made of white plastic, and once the trim rings are removed you will be able to see the ugly areas of the assembly. I like to tape off the lenses in the assembly, and the bumper cover around it and spray a little black paint on the ugly areas just to give it a cleaner look once the covers are on as dicussed a few posts back...
