Customer's Cars. 56k- no way.
« on: July 29, 2009, 11:47:49 PM »
Here is a 1990 300ZX that's getting an antenna delete, some rust fixed and dents and dings smoothed out. He also had me install a TT spoiler on the back and get a cheap aftermarket nose piece to fit. It's then getting a nice fresh repaint with  really brilliant silver and a nice sanding and polishing. I'll also be installing a CD player.

Will be painting it tomorrow, after taping it all up and getting the garage all tarped up and ready to go. Will still have a head unit and hidden antenna to install, some various trim and such to put back on, and a LOT of detailing to do LOL.

And tonight, after it's all wetsanded, waiting for paint tomorrow...

It's all painted. I got lots of wetsanding and polishing to do. It was so hot that even with high temp reducer and and flow enhancer, the damn clear was starting to skim over by the time I'd get around the car, so there are some meally overlap lines that gotta get handled as well as some dust, but overall, I think after some polishing it'll look pretty badass....

after basecoat...

and after clear..

Dude came to pick it up and loved it. So much so that he paid his balance, gave me a tip, and will be bringing me a late 60's Impala in 2 weeks to build a custom out of.

Late 90's F150. It needed some bodywork and a pait job, and I also talked him into a fade job...

01 Mustang. It had some vinyl stickers on it that were taped off when it got it's last paint job, and then cleared over with a cheap clear on top of that. Of course, the cheap clear failed after 3 years so he wanted the vinyl off, some bodywork done and some fresh paint. He brought me some junk single stage Summitt paint that was a heavy metalic. Metallic single stages never look too good, because if you put it on light enough to get the metallics to orientate, the finish comes out a bit orangepeely. If you put it on heavy to get a smooth finish, the metallics bunch up and look like shit. I told him this when he brought me the car and told him he should put a clear over it. He wanted cheap so he decided against it, until he saw how dull single stage is. Then he decided to bring it back later and have me clear it with a purple pearl too...

and after clear and a little purple pearl a couple weeks later...

The pics of that mustang do not do it justice. It had a much darker purple ambience from 10 feet looking at it.
