Modified Magazine has written and article about a custom labor of love with a LS1 swapped conquest…You might of seen it around on the forums. The Convette.

On October 13th we had a Texas Starion and Conquest Owners get together at the 2011 DIPalooza Event. This included cars and folks from Kansas, Arkansas, Abilene, Waco, Houston & San Antonio! We had 12 cars in all and this ended up being a super event! Joe Rivera competed in the 1/8th mile unlimted class and Phil Kinsley in 1/8th mile the awd/rwd class at the North Star Dragway. At this event both Joe & Phil Won their respective classes and Joe’s car ended up being the fastest car to run down the track this day. Both car experience a broker rear axle (on opposite sides) but they quickly got to work with the help of others to swap them out to finish on top. This was a very historical day to have not 1 but 2 starions clean up the event competition with low 6′s in the unlimited class and low 7′s in the awd/rwd class. The starions almost took 3 classes with Greg just barely missing out on clinching his bracket class.
